The Traitors: Anywhere is an official game of the hit TV show, The Traitors, but what makes it different?
Before you begin plotting or unmasking Traitors in your midst, we have some explaining to do.
The Traitors: Anywhere is your chance to join the game from anywhere over WhatsApp, with people you already know and trust. Take part in Missions, accuse others at The Round Table, defend yourself and play your role as “Faithful” (whether you are one or not!) as best you can.
We’re not ready to hand over the keys to your castles just yet, but in preparation, we thought we’d allow you a peek behind the curtain at what The Traitors: Anywhere is, and why you won’t want to miss out. Read on to find out what’s in store…
Play The Traitors: Anywhere
Just as the name suggests, The Traitors: Anywhere allows you to play The Traitors, pretty much anywhere!
To begin with, The Traitors: Anywhere will only be available for purchase in the UK and Ireland. Don’t worry if you’re on holiday or overseas while gameplay is live, you’ll still be able to play (but just make sure you make a note of any timezone differences).
The game has been designed to slip seamlessly into your day. While you brush your teeth, you’ll find out who is arriving at breakfast with you. While the kettle boils or your lunch arrives, you’ll have a mission to complete with your fellow players. And just before your head hits your pillow, you’ll either have a chance to Murder a fellow player, or discover you’ve been Murdered by a Traitor.
Play With Anyone and Everyone
The only players exempt from The Traitors: Anywhere are players under 16 years of age. Other than that, you’re free to invite whoever you want to your castle – or why not, set up multiple castles with different people at once.
No need to arrange a meeting time or place with your fellow players. The Traitors: Anywhere is played entirely remotely, so schedule conflicts are the least of your worries. Even if players are scattered across the country, everyone can take part.
You’ll Always Know Your Fellow Players
If it’s any consolation, you’ll only ever be at the mercy of people who are known to you (or the organiser) while playing The Traitors: Anywhere.
Castles are created by the organiser who invites specific players. You won’t be grouped with strangers who all know each other and find yourself Banished simply for being the newest face in the chat.
This means you’re about to discover a whole new side to your friends, family, colleagues or acquaintances that you didn’t before…
No App Downloads or Physical Props Necessary
All you need to play The Traitors: Anywhere is a mobile phone, WhatsApp installed and WiFi or cellular data. That’s it! No need to go anywhere specific or buy anything extra, the game unfolds in the palm of your hand over the course of a week.
By all means, throw on cloaks and send out waxed-sealed scrolls if you want to kick the game off with your fellow players in style, but it’s entirely optional and won’t impact your game!
A Week Of Gameplay For Successful Players
As fans will know, the aim is to survive until the end of the game and have other players believe you are Faithful, whether that is true or not! Ideally, you’ll be among the last players standing and have a chance to claim the prize pot.
But there’s also another side to the game. You could be Murdered overnight or Banished at The Round Table long before the Traitors are unmasked. Don’t worry, we’ve thought of that. If you’re the first player out, you’ll get your pass back to play another game!
